Melanie Sodka

Melanie Sodka is a human behaviour enthusiast helping overwhelmed people who are over-committed and distracted. She’s a Podcaster and an international speaker who addresses Capacity Management. Through her structures and frameworks, she reveals how our addition to distraction is literally breaking down our bodies. Her research and trademarked tools have helped tens of thousands in managing their personal capacity while staying out of burnout and doing more of what they love.
For many years, Melanie has been engaging and shifting the perspectives of her audiences in the classroom, boardroom and conference rooms. A TEDx speaker, Melanie designs custom talks and virtual series to serve her clients. She is also an experienced lead facilitator for national conferences as well as an EMCEE for various events.
Currently, Melanie is working with a large Canadian bank and their multiple divisions through speaking and team capacity programs. Other clients range from packaged goods, to pharma, to Tech companies as well as NFP. Brynden Devenny

Through these roles, he has gained significant experience in team and leadership development, strategy, and moving mission and vision from idea to reality.

Curtis Wennberg
President & CEO, Credit Union Central of MB
Curtis Wennberg joined CUCM as the President and CEO in October 2021. He serves on the boards of directors for the Prairie Payments Joint Venture, CUCC, and on the Celero management committee.
Prior to joining CUCM, Curtis served as Chief Operating Officer of Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), leading operations and customer service through a team of 1,200 people. In his five years at MPI, he oversaw significant changes which helped to provide lower insurance rates, increase customer satisfaction, and evolve the culture of the firm.
Curtis holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba, and a Masters of Business Administration from the London Business School in England. He has held executive roles for businesses in credit cards, commercial finance, consumer finance, strategy, and marketing. In addition to senior level positions with RBC, HSBC, and GE Capital, Curtis was also the Chief Business Development Officer for the Canadian Depository for Securities as it underwent the acquisition by the Toronto Stock Exchange Group.
Through the State of the System address, Curtis will provide updates and insights regarding emerging issues and opportunities for Manitoba credit unions.
Dave Hergesheimer
Vice President, Credit Risk, Cambrian Credit Union
Dave’s career in the banking industry began in 1986, in commercial banking with the Bank of Montreal. In 1990, he joined the credit union system as a commercial loans officer at Hy-Line Credit Union. In 1996, he became a commercial credit analyst at CUCM, where he gained invaluable experience and greater exposure to lending in the Manitoba system. In 2000, Dave accepted the position of Loans Manager at the Oak Bank Credit Union. In 2007, he was promoted to the role of CEO, a position that he held for over eight years. In 2017, Dave had the opportunity to return to CUCM in the capacity of Commercial Credit Manager, and following a retirement in June 2021, he was promoted to his current role of Vice President, Lending & Compliance.
Over the years, Dave has served on many system committees as well as being a director and vice-president of the Credit Union Managers Association of Manitoba (CUMAM). He is particularly proud of his involvement and support of the CCUA’s Women’s Mentorship Program, being a past recipient of the Concentra $10,000 local community award, as well as supporting various local and national charities.
